According to Crunchyroll, the addition of Funimation's library now gives the company the largest library of streaming anime in the world. Sony, which has owned Funimation since 2017, purchased Crunchyroll in 2021 for a reported $1.1 billion USD and now appears to be consolidating all of the conglomerate's international anime operations under the Crunchyroll brand. The move comes just weeks after Funimation announced that it was moving most of its streaming library over to Crunchyroll's platform.
